67.01 Tenerife, Spain: An opener at Mesa del Mar, Tacoronte.

The Atlantic is not gentle.
Looks like everything and anything goes flying after a pounding.
We returned to Tenerife, Spain after a more than a 2-year gap. Seems longer but calendars don't lie. While we usually have much to say and try not to always say it, jetlag is a big help in causing a slowdown. We are also beginning to think some of the toughest hikes are no match for international travel, which is filled with much tension and worry as planes are delayed frequently. This creates frustration and concern about being on time to collect a vehicle (before it's cancelled), checking into an apartment late at night and so many other issues. As we mentioned, the hiking and mountain challenges are the easy aspects.

While air travel might be tough, the miracle of flight never ceases to amaze us. And for one of us who struggles to find his way to the corner shop, the thought of finding the airport after crossing continents becomes even more meaningful.

'House on the Hill' with echoes of Beatles.
Try lugging the baggage down to this apartment...we didn't, just backpacks.
A hop, skip and jump and a person arrives at the top in no-time.
Jen heading toward destination after more than an hour from commencement.
After some tricky climbing on our first outing, the wind added an element of...excitement.

Returning to the top.
Mount Teide (volcano) peeks from the clouds.
Cheers,

Jenni and Jeffrey
