After circumventing the lake, the view is better from this side. It is a refugi, a hiker's hut including a 'restaurant'.
One of many ski-slopes we pass on the way up. This is still early days.
Toward the top, we leave the forest trail and join a rough road. Jen loves these meetings, especially since a cow butted her in Nepal. She believes I milk these scenes to take a dig.
Sitting at our brunch spot and hoping Jen would make peace with the bovines. Imagine a milkshake and cereal in this position.
A view from quite a distance as Jen nears the closed-cafe/refugi.
Off-trail searching for a brunch spot on which to perch.
Found it.
Enjoying the venue. In 7 years of visiting, we have failed to notice any maintenance. It's a pity. There's something magical we find in this vicinity.
A colorful 'bathroom' area when the refugi is closed...which seems quite often.
Returning to the trail.
We know someone who loves reflections.
Most visitors to this location and onwards arrive by chair-lift, some 2,500 feet elevation gain.
Let him close the blog...otherwise he sometimes gets a bit touchy.
Cheers,
Jenni and Jeffrey
