10.37 Sunset visit to Cathedral Rock

After spending most of the day working and recovering from a tough hike up Wilson Mountain the previous day, Sunday, our editor thought it a good idea to observe a sunset from the Cathedral. We can never resist visiting Cathedral Rock so as the classical thinkers might say, the decision was 'a no-brainer'.

A handful of photographs follow, all taken from Cathedral Rock:

Courthouse Butte, a Sedona landmark (actually one of many)

Cathedral Spires accepting sunrays in lieu of alms

Sun makes it's first move, we take positions

Editor waits, or meditates, or seeks vortex...No, she's sleeping

Editor send skivvy to get closer to the sun explaining every inch makes a difference

'Here comes the sun'

There she goes

Now for some action

Never fails to impress

Explosion in the sky

There is always a price. The later one remains on a mountain or butte, the better the flares of the sun. However, it does mean the journey back down the steep rocks takes place in failing light and finally, darkness. Isn't that life; a set of trade-offs?

Cheers,

Jenni and Jeffrey
