46.08 Desolation Wilderness: Angora Lakes and ridge. Fire, destruction and beauty, plus a surprise at the lakes.

Upon reaching the ridge, a partly blocked view of Lake Tahoe.

'Death be not proud'.

How is it that nature is able to make the best of any disaster? Is there a lesson lurking?

'We're looking for an eagle? Are there any in this region?' We asked a fellow traveler.

"Take it easy. Calm down. It was a joke.'

'Okay. We can begin again. How are the worms, little guy?'

Maybe it's better that 'we talk to the trees'.

The upper Angora lake.

We hiked nearly 4 miles one-way to reach the upper lake and found it is the home of a resort. In the middle of the mountains, there are cabins, services and a restaurant. Very European, if that statement is still acceptable during these sensitive times?

Heading down, nearing the neighborhood 4 miles from the resort.

Jen tries to keep low in the bushes, as we complete the hike, in case any of the neighbors think she's 'game'

Cheers,

Jenni and Jeffrey
