Supplement to the cover picture and because...

The Colorado River outside Arches, Utah.

We've passed opinions frequently about the incredible state of Utah, almost ad nauseum although we believe the state deserves all the accolades heaped upon it. While the national and state parks are beautiful, one does not have to visit them to experience Utah. Just today, we passed the Colorado River (love it) on the way to a glorious hike of at least ten miles. The cover picture depicts the scene we saw while driving along the water's edge. The 3 pictures below are taken after hiking 5 miles and only about 1,630 feet of elevation gain through and up the boulders and rocks of this unusual, but typical Utah scenery. It shows us above the river (after dropping down a bit), looking toward the place we snapped the cover picture. We thought that nice.

Road, river, ravine, rocks...remarkable.

Can you believe the scene?

Scroll down for the regular post...excuse Jeffrey's indulgence.
