51.07 Free State and KwaZulu-Natal: Out and about in South Africa for too short a trip: Verdict: Love it.

South Africa's most honest weather report: Clarens, Free State. (Where's the rock?)
Drakensberg Retreat: Gone scrambling. This is an abandoned trail. The manager, Theo, related a story of a young gymnast who fell over the cliff and died 3-years before. He rushed to the scene but the situation was hopeless. It was heartbreaking for all concerned who tried to rescue her, besides of course, the tragedy for the young woman.
Everest Game Farm with the Eagle prominent.

The highlight of the trip for me was listening and observing how Jen stimulated and took care of Mom. Her finest hours. The picture to the left is of Wendy, my late sister, who died before her 40th.

By popular vote, most say they prefer this side of me. One wonders about the kindness of friends.
Mom explaining some of the finer points of administrative steps undertaken by a 93-year old, or everything I learned at college was wasted.
Our rendition of 'Somewhere over the Rainbow"—it was beautiful to listen to...maybe, observe.

By this time, Jen had had enough of potential snake attacks emanating from the long grass following her confrontation with a puff-adder the day before. She deals with snakes; I'm searching for the far more 'dangerous antelope'. The good news we learned just before our departure is that the snake should make a full recovery following the vicious attack suffered. Nevertheless, the 'hissing' amongst the local crawlers and winders is to remain low until that woman leaves the region. Apparently, some wise serpent announced that Eve had returned after a long absence This is unconfirmed in both the local papers, 'Under the Rocks' and the 'Tree-Swinger'.
You can see the issue: The arrow is pointing the other way. It's a one-way (abandoned) trail, Sweetheart.
Never thought I'd see this sight of someone who dislikes phones. Supposed to hold on for dear life, Dear, not the phone, though.
We were on Mount Everest...one can still dream.
Sterkfontein Dam, colossal and full.
There were two reasons we visited South Africa. The first was to enjoy scones (with 5-Roses tea) at Shafflers Nursery, a place we find delightful. The other reason was...I forget now.
 Cheers,

Jenni and Jeffrey
