63.19 Remembering a few that stood out, that gave us pleasure and sweat.

It's seldom we forget a place we have frequented or sights that have stirred us or experiences that are unforgettable. However, with new sights, hikes and scenes occurring daily, many of the earlier ones are filed and not viewed much. It's a pity as they remind us of earlier times, often they're pretty attractive and it seems unfair to relegate them to the bottom of the hill or left in the valley. With this in mind, we identified a few at random and quickly; we have mixed them in amongst the Nepalese trip and the western deserts of last winter.

'Hey, Dunes', Death Valley, California.

Kenmo Lake, Himeville, South Africa.

Machu Picchu Mountain above the ruins 2,000 feet below in Peru.

Crete, Greece.

Sani Pass, Lesotho.

Bryce Canyon, Utah.

Dawn at Keurboomstrand, South Africa.

La Serrara Peak, Andorra, alongside France.

Chamonix, France.
Lac Blanc, Andorra.
Alomana, Hawaii.
Sliding Sands Trail, Hawaii.
Valley of Fire, Nevada at dawn.
 Dolomites, Italy.
Lake near Tahoe.
One evening on the Otter Trail, the sun cascades from the sky.
Jen about to reach Angels Landing.
Back in Austria on the peak of Seefeld Spitze.
A view of Machu Picchu on the way to the peak of the same name.
Godot Voss, Iceland.
A view from Iron Mountain at sunrise, San Diego.

After crossing a river, we rise on the Otter Trail.
Jen tiptoes through a forest on French Island of  La Reunion.
Partial Sentinel as we approach after tough climb, Kwa-Zulu Natal, RSA.
They don't look better than this one...a favorite climbing the chain ladders at the Sentinel in South Africa.
At the second highest waterfall in the world, the Tugela Falls, but where's the flow?
A Drakensberg scene from another mountain of the range.
Switzerland.

Cheers,

Jenni and Jeffrey

  1. Really enjoyed viewing this collection of past hikes, and pleased they didn’t get pushed down to the valley floor.
