After more than an hour of climbing, we take note of the various targets....and debate 'turning back'. It was the shortest discussion ever. 😁
Jen looks up and decides: Better to keep the eyes on the rocky track.
Two weeks before, we reached the peak in the centre across the way. The view from either side is fascinating. Cable car and ski-lift from El Tartar on display.
The perfect example of altitude views. See later where a contrast makes the statement valid.
This view gives an indication of the gradient as well as the forward stretch.
View of facial expression supports the above indication.
Definitely making progress. Steep but in an open environment.
Pic de Torredella, the hike we spoke highly of recently. It was the climb without a trail, seen in the middle of picture.
Originally, we thought this was the peak as it looked higher, an illusion.
Estany Sorda, our first hike in Andorra. The peak in the photograph is where we reached on this hike. The lake picture is ordinary from this perspective.
It is/was an outstanding view, making the sight from the original hike pale in comparison. Just right of the lake is the refugi and outside ablution. (Forgive us for not going down 900 feet to use it.)
Another of Sorda Estany, with a partial mountain view behind.
The reward of approaching the peak...the smile shows it all. The only two other hikers on the day are shown in picture. We met up with the two and had another fascinating chat about independence for Catalonia. We may be arrested when we return to Spain. In the background to the left is another favorite, Pic Casamanya.
The view made the tough hike memorable.
Jen summons me and I obey...on the double to avoid trouble.
In the early stages, we look up across at the Soldeu Ski station (One down from El Tartar, top left) and the wonderful tree-covered mountain and slopes.
From the top, we now look down on Soldeu Ski Station and golf course.
Weeks earlier, Jenni approaching Soldeu Ski Station.
Cloud Peak or peak cloud.
