A view from somewhere on the lesser mountain but an enjoyable sight.
The old story: The higher one climbs, the more impressive the sights.
Jen approaches a ski slope. The colors are beginning to show which is wonderful and from then it only improved, almost exponentially.
Our 'home' is to the right and lower than the village/ski action station below. It was a magnificent stay so we returned 8 days after our first departure. Maybe that's why we passed Orpheus Rocks so often. Once a person is so close, how can one not go climbing.
A view from the rocks...with a 'few' trees showing...nicely?
A view of the rocks, inter alia.
A serene view toward Smolyan. See below (Caption AA) of a view from the lake below toward Orpheus Rocks (reciprocal view).
Exploring the rocks with some interesting edges. The drop in the front is relatively small, on the other side of the narrow top, massive.
Last week we displayed a blog showing the military base we passed at a mountain top, actually the highest of the Rhodopes. In the distance on the summit, the buildings are visible (the dome is prominent).
Always trees and scattered buildings within the forests. Notice the national flag.
Another slope, another view of Snezhanka Tower.
(AA from above) Taken from Smolyan Lakes of Orpheus Rocks.
An invigorating sight as we go around the lake, up and down Murgavets and then up to Snezhanka.
A fair perspective of Pamporovo, a delightful town in the Rhodope Mountains, not far from Greece.
Jen climbs through the bush and up the rock-face to reach a high point.
Another view of the attractive building shown earlier which appears hidden in the trees.
Cheers,
