LAZAROW WORLD HIKE-ABOUT

Portugal: Geres: a magnificent region in the north of the country.

'LAZAROW WORLD HIKE-ABOUT: WHAT IN THE WORLD IS HIKE-ABOUT?'

Hike-about is an adventure that commenced June 2010. After storing our household movables, ridding ourselves of a house but retaining our 'home' together, we set off with the purpose of hiking in different parts of the world, not forgetting the home country, the USA.

Our primary focus is hiking to mountain peaks but any challenging hike will do just fine. Extended stays enable us to enjoy and experience living in various places amongst differing cultures. Hike-about has evolved into a way of life. It's also a process of discovery, both the world and ourselves.

We work and live 'on the road' but return to the city in which our grandchildren reside, every three, or slightly less, months. This provides us the wonderful opportunity to be with them as well as a child or two, even three and of course, friends.

By the end of 2024, the blog contained over 1,636 hikes (far less than actually undertaken), each a set of pictures with stories and anecdotes from the trails. An index to the right allows the viewer to identify earlier experiences.

Finally, we are often asked about the journey's end.
O
ur reply, as accurate as we can state, is: "When we are either forced to cease through health issues or the enjoyment level no longer reaches our aspirations, we will hang up the boots."

"A Life Experience As No Other: Dare to Seize the Day Together", published by Fulton Books, depicts our life on the road and mountains until the beginning of 2017. It has developed 'exponentially' since then.

69.06 Bulgaria: A Further introduction to a number of hikes undertaken as we fall for Autumn's presents ('ce').

A quick peek at a mere handful of the miracles permeating the world. Of course, we are a mere couple of souls completely out of our depth but enjoying our immersion until someone finds out that we are trespassing the glory. Hopefully, He will grant us some leeway.

In "Black-and-White" as well as color all about...a truly remarkable position on a tough climb.
More often than not these days, we express our amazement to each other at not only the incredible sights/sites and situation but perhaps even more importantly, the dimension in we feel we become immersed at times.
Some girls have all the fun.
Well, this girl does work hard but the joy far surpasses the effort. A second visit to Muratovo as we head above and beyond it toward Banderitsa Gate.
The forests take the breath away aided by the steep slopes. As mentioned, there appears to be another dimension within them, too...besides the teddy bear parties and at times, a haunt or two. (Truth be told, this position of Jen relative to the forest dazzles me.)
We really are getting 'tired' of autumn, yet it has hardly begun. Are we correct in believing 'tired' is a synonym for 'enthralled'?
Deep in a forest returning from Yavarov Hut...a second visit via a different route.
Trying to grasp the magnitude of the materials comprising the Earth's surface. And this was just for a handful of 'Rocky' movies.
Sometimes it appears that one should tread carefully in order not to disturb the environment. On a rough-and-tough day, we forget that concept at times and race to reach safety when Mother Nature is less sympathetic.

Are we heading up there?

Cheers,

Jenni and Jeffrey
