Hike 15.1: Hunting season opens at Waimea Canyon

The Waimea Canyon - An Overview, the scene of today's action The new hazard on the trails is that of the hunter. In Africa, it used to be the big ‘White Hunter’, or the Bwana. Today, we have to be careful what we write even though we only wish the best for all good people. On the “canyon hike’ we came across the warning sign about hunting. ‘Great,’ we thought, now there are going to be bwanas shooting at us. It is becoming a very dangerous activity, this hiking. What to do? We remembered last year in Morro Bay where we did the big favor for our beloved editor. Perhaps it is time for her to repay the kindness.
