67.20 Tenerife: El Sauzal via Camino Rojas...some coastal color to brighten one's life.

  We undertook this hike a few times but never via the same route. One could add to it, change direction or a try a combination of a number of different legs. Of course, there was the chance of getting lost, missing a turn which could make the day very long but always colorful. Some consolation! As for the coloring, we'll allow the photographs to convince a viewer. Bear in mind, it is not the period of autumn whereby one can anticipate amazing foliage. Jen in a daze...maze. 68.23 Andorra: Commencement and ending (a loop) at Refugi del lac de Pessons, mountains, lakes and adventure.

One of us has a weakness for reflections...perhaps that should read 'strong desire' to enjoy reflective scenes. Facing Refugi del lac de Pessons, a verandah/patio that has a terrific atmosphere. Certainly more relaxing than the surrounding trails. Indicative of the 'paths' up to the mountain summits from this commencement point. There's much rock climbing, hopping and a little slipping. Jen begins tentatively and then acquires her confidence and stride all the way to the top. Handles the up-and-downs with aplomb. This scene focuses on Cubil Petit, a mountain we climbed toward the beginning of our stay. A great experience. On this trail one can view at least a dozen lakes, admittedly, mostly small bodies of water. Reaching a minor but windy peak, the fourth layer of peaks thus far. Enjoyed this scene of reeds and water. Jen reaches a small peak, too, at which time we found shelter from the wind and ate brunch. A weary expression after n...
