47.33: Golden Canyon, Death Valley, California, along the boundary with Nevada: A truly remarkable place.
In summer, this region is reputed to be the hottest place on the planet. We cannot attest to this personally for outside of winter, it's unlikely you'll find us in the Valley. During winter, as the pictures hopefully attest to (and those still to be published), the situation is vastly different...and very attractive. Delightful position and view. We found a new position along the ridge, knife-edge in places. To all those good people who responded to our previous blog and expressed concern for injuries sustained, we want to express our gratitude to both of you, especially Mom. Obviously, one should always be honest, for integrity after all, is a vital aspect of society. Of course, this is fully supported by the political class who continue to take the lead by example. Nevertheless, I was not forthcoming about our experiences at Gold Strike Canyon and the boulder hopping and rope climbing we supposedly undertook. It seemed so exciting and impressive that I got car...
