We're on 'vacation' until early October. As the sun sets on a wonderful experience, we close with a video. Most of all, turn up the volume... Before viewing the video and perhaps the last posted triple-blog, we thought of adding some statistics relating to Hike-about 23. It's quite sobering, we believe, when one thinks about them in a context away from the trails. Here they are: Days away : 49 Days traveling : 10 (both car and planes) Days Sabbath rest : 7 Days lazy : 5 Days hiking : 27 Distance covered on foot : 236 miles (378km) Vertical gain : 61,500 feet or 11.6 miles (18.5km) Distance by car : Forgot to check Number of hikes double-counted : zero (for Barry Jahn only) Injuries sustained on Hike-about 23 : None.
