69.11 Bulgaria: Bezbog Lake: One of our regular haunts. Plenty of good hikes and a special lake.
After 2-hours climbing from the bottom ski-lift, we reach Bezbog lake...it never fails to lift our spirits. After circumventing the lake, the view is better from this side. It is a refugi, a hiker's hut including a 'restaurant'. One of many ski-slopes we pass on the way up. This is still early days. Toward the top, we leave the forest trail and join a rough road. Jen loves these meetings, especially since a cow butted her in Nepal. She believes I milk these scenes to take a dig. Sitting at our brunch spot and hoping Jen would make peace with the bovines. Imagine a milkshake and cereal in this position. A view from quite a distance as Jen nears the closed-cafe/refugi. Off-trail searching for a brunch spot on which to perch. Found it. Enjoying the venue. In 7 years of visiting, we have failed to notice any maintenance. It's a pity. There's something magical we find in this vicinity.
