47.46 Utah: Arches National Park: The Devil's Garden and all those forbidden delights.

This proved to be an exciting hike once we reached the junction leading to the back-country. Truth be told, we were surprised by at least two of the sections in the back-country segment. Admittedly, it was rated difficult but we did not expect to confront a section that made us see the white of each other's eyes. We have no embarrassment in admitting the fear factor was pretty high as we balanced precariously on a tiny ledge, heading across a large boulder. Wow!  There was no opportunity for pictures as we supported each other over these obstacles. However, upon reaching safety, we did take a picture of a young woman in a similar position on the ledge, which is shown below. As is typical, the camera, was unable to give a true perspective. The strange thing is that we have done the hike before and cannot remember that dangerous part. Whether it means we have failing memories, becoming soft or there has been a change or we took a wrong turn, we don't know. What we do know is t...
