41.25 Idaho, Ketchum: Ruud Mountain, across the way from Bald Mountain.

Image
This finally closes the trip covering a little of Nevada, a bit more of Idaho and much more of Utah. It's probably fair to state that the depth of nature's impact on landscapes, formations, colors, variation and a whole host of other criteria is limitless within the United States and more particularly, the western states. Jen rises. Overpowering mountains to the fore, magnificent covered peaks in the background. Flowers were and are outstanding. Ground cover is gorgeous. Her body posture is suggesting 'she's puzzled we're not there yet'. Cheers, Jenni and Jeffrey

41.24: Utah, near Salt Lake City: Lake Blanche

A hike up to another of Salt Lake City's numerous alpine lakes. Most seem to 'float' at about 9,000 feet, usually with hiking elevation gains of 2,000 to 3,000 feet, this one being over 2,700 feet. Some of the track is testing but the destination point is rewarding. This hike and endpoint, includes two other lakes, Florence and Lillian, both adding to pleasure. The whole experience, complemented by the surrounding mountains, the deep valley and the different rock formations proved superb. The tranquility reflects off the water. Did some painting in our spare moments. Contrasting formations Cheers, Jenni and Jeffrey
