We have travelled extensively within this state and are always amazed at its diversity—using the word normally rather than politically. It seems to have every type of terrain possible, climate too. One cannot generalize about California as the northern parts, both geographically and inhabitants wise, differ from those in the south. We think they are glad about that. In fact, when we arrived here in the early 1990’s, not because of us, there were strong voices for splitting the state.
