64.02 Portugal: Peneda-Gerês: A brief introduction to an aspect of the national forest: A depth of delights, maybe hidden treasures, but mainly: Reflections.
We were thinking the other day of something we have learned and for which we feel blessed: Since embarking on Hike-about, we've come to appreciate deeply, many simple things we took for granted previously. Should you wish to view the better side of an 'upside-down world', we think this is as a good time and place as any. Because we are obviously biased, we don't believe it gets better regarding reflections and lakes. The photographs are a taste or reflection of 2 powerful days in the mountains. Details, plus a spread of photographs, will follow later. In the meantime, I like to reflect on the world which becomes vastly improved when gazing upon lakes, particularly from on high. During this particular occasion, we were most fortunate to arrive at Vilarinho das Furnas Dam, (Canicada, too), during a windless hour. We don't think we've had better moments of reflections encompassing the sky, clouds, mountains and flora plus other surroundings. ...
