50.47/48 Salt Lake City, Utah: Van Cott Mountain and Crestwood Gulch, a mix of two autumn days.

The colors of the season proved to be both stimulating and soothing, if that's not a paradox. Somehow, we don't think we'll enjoy better foliage than experienced over the fall season this year. Then again, often wrong.  Misty beginning, always glorious unless you're there for a tan. At the gulch.     Unique view of the city, we thought. Loved this one. Made a strong impression. We approached from the western side. Noticed the parking lot at the eastern trailhead. Jen said we were only 'a stone throw away' from the development below. Unfortunately, I tried to prove she was wrong and got 'fined' for my effort. Fortunately, it turned out fine. At lower altitudes, no snow. (Is the guy brilliant or what?) Cheers,  Jenni and Jeffrey

San Diego: Birds, Beach and B(h)ike, on a Sunday morning before the arrival of the crowds.

Massive array of birds perch above our backyard pool. Jen approaches the nudist beach. You have to love winter at this beach, not an uncovered body on view: Phew! A while ago, we discovered a more adventurous climb from the beach. A part profile of the hill. You could say 'It's steep and narrow'. Superior to air force precision. The old way of showing the bird(s). We turn around at La Jolla Farms Road, returning to the beach and spot a building that a few friends occupy...delightful views from those apartments. Bring it in closer, an uncommon view of La Jolla shores. Taking a turn. The chain fence indicates the top. One of the fascinations of being in the wilds is 'stalking' animals and birds...with a camera. Taking pictures of these creatures when locked behind bars or enclosed is not a good idea (the animals, not us). In principle, it's something not attractive.
