12.13 Washington: Rattlesnake Ledge, one for the road with Gavin
An edgy editor at the Rattlesnake How's your high diving technique, Gav? Looking down and through the valley Gavin had the enthusiasm as well as showing us a clear pair of heals as we headed up Rattlesnake trail. It is a little under 5 miles with a reasonable gradient but still a good workout. In the same vein as Oregon, the terrain is covered in trees and there's much water, too. In a little misunderstanding, the editor thought we wanted to rest before going to Europe whereas we had similar thoughts about the editor's aspirations. Gav solved the problem by providing his Mom with a Mother's day present of a hike followed by chocolate. We still don't know whether the motivation for the hike was the joy of the wonderful sights at the top combined with the satisfaction felt after exertion or the thought of white milk chocolate later.
