We are fortunate to enjoy many good, even great experiences, almost daily when we are on the slopes. This was no exception. In fact, the ascent of 3,100 or more feet, on a good trail, surrounded by outstanding flora with a challenging finish and views that would be hard to beat, made this a top tier hike. When we were young, perhaps younger would be more appropriate, Rothmans Cigarette Company had an advert that the movie houses would display on the big screen immediately before the feature. The adverts, generally, were classy, powerful and probably made an impact. They were never enough to convince me to smoke but I haven't forgotten them. (As an aside, while I believe smoking is a distasteful habit, I find it equally distasteful and hypocritical that so much bad behavior is considered acceptable in modern times while condemning smoking. Then Jen needed a rest while the telephoto went to work on the "Y". Utah Lake, Provo and parts of the city. Lovely views through the channel. From a few hundred feet below the summit, the view of the previous day's peak, Mount Squaw. It was a big day at over 3,000 feet ascent. From Squaw Peak, the previous day, the "Y" Peak is to the rear. And now where? Greater perspective as Jen sits on the boulders upfront. Breaking the treeline and finding gorgeous meadows. Provo, a city far larger than anticipated. Cheers, Jenni and Jeffrey
