Another form of civilization...La Laguna from high. Coastal homes...magnificent settings. We haven't been invited in to view...yet. Another city, this time it's Puerto de la Cruz. Thank goodness for wide roads; we are able to walk double-abreast. The arrows are also helpful in the unlikely event that some uninformed person might consider it one-way. By the way, this is an extremely steep road which the camera enjoys teasing us otherwise. After a month on the island, we discovered a new Spanish beverage. Discovery is an exciting part of our adventures as is ignorance. We extended the coastal hike as we were thirsty. Jenni's had enough water for a while. What can I do?  Life is full of surprises and coincidences. Over the years, we have had a number of coincidences which leave one stunned, invariably in the nicest way. Perhaps our most memorable incident of this nature took place in New Zealand. We returned from a hike in Queenstown, noticed a McDonald's, grabbed two hot beverages and sat on the grass across the road in a park.    Someone tapped me on the shoulder and said, "Hello Jeffrey". Nothing odd about that seeing it's my name. I looked up, did not recognize the person, so I got to my feet very slowly, allowing me to think quickly (nice for a change.) while rising...(continues below).    Punta del Hidalgo lighthouse.
